About Us

Our story

Rashmi Bindra’s passion for clothing began in her childhood and has guided her life’s work ever since. A standout student at South Delhi Polytechnic, she immersed herself in textile design—often dreaming of checks and patterns she’d sketch at dawn. Today, with over two decades of industry experience, Rashmi is a recognized name in North India, celebrated for her dedication to creating pieces that are both functional and timeless. Inspired by the late Wendell Rodricks, a dear friend and fellow advocate of enduring fashion, she brings her love of gardening, painting, and the natural world into every garment. Hand-painting each piece personally, Rashmi ensures that what Taraash sends out carries her signature creativity and respect for craftsmanship in every stitch.

About Taraash

Taraash means “to form, carve, nurture shape, and fashion”—a perfect reflection of our approach to clothing. Rooted in over two decades of immersion in India’s textile traditions, Taraash embodies our founder’s vision for garments that celebrate florals, color, and craftsmanship. By blending heritage techniques with modern design, we create pieces that are vibrant, functional, and inclusive—designed to adapt to a woman’s changing needs and last for generations.

Foundational pillars

The Art of Hand-Painting & Vivid Aesthetics

Here, every garment begins with the brush. We hand-paint our fabrics rather than print them, ensuring no two pieces are identical. This meticulous approach highlights our founder’s deep-rooted love for bright hues and floral motifs, infusing every design with personality and authenticity. By thoughtfully combining colors and patterns, we champion the intricacy and exuberance that define Indian wear.

Heritage with a Contemporary Twist

Drawing on age-old techniques—like the beloved “nada”—we remain faithful to traditional practices while embracing modern innovations. Our founder’s extensive experience underpins a design philosophy that balances classic Indian silhouettes with fresh, structured lines. The result is clothing that honors India’s textile legacy yet speaks to the evolving tastes and functional demands of today’s wearer.

Sustainability & Personalization

At Taraash, sustainability goes beyond responsible production. We take pride in using quality fabrics and carefully tailoring each piece to your unique measurements, rather than producing garments in bulk. If wear and tear occur—perhaps after a spirited night of dancing—we gladly offer repair services so you can continue cherishing your Taraash creation. The longevity of our garments is a core part of our identity, ensuring that each piece can be passed on, treasured, and woven into new stories for generations.
